High Holy Days scheduling changes, the week of Yom Kippur

The Rabbi is still recovering from his illness, so please let’s continue to send our prayers for a refuah shleimah (perfect healing). The Rabbi is already starting to feel better and he hopes to be back in services very soon!

Because we have had to make some adjustments to our upcoming services, here is our revised schedule for the next few days:

Friday evening service (9/26) is on as scheduled. To be lay-led by Joseph and Jeff, as usual when the Rabbi is away. There will be no Saturday morning service this week. This is a very special shabbat known as Shabbat Shuvah, so please try to attend services on Friday.

On Sunday morning (9/28), at 10 am, we will have our annual Kever Avot service at the Cemetery. Members of our sister congregation, Temple Rodef Sholom, have been invited to join us. It is a great mitzvah to perform this service, as it is a way to remember and honor those who have gone before us.

The best news of all: we will be back in the shul on Wednesday evening (October 1), at 7 pm, for Kol Nidre service. Te be lay-led by Joseph and Jeff, with other contributors.

Because the Rabbi is still recuperating, we will not be doing the all-day Yom Kippur services at the shul on Thursday (October 2). However, we have once again been graciously invited to the Temple for their services which begin at 10 am. They have asked that visitors register at www.trswaco.org. Their Yizkor and Ne’ilah service begins at 4:30 pm, followed by a break-the-fast at about 6:00 pm. If you are interested in staying for that, please RSVP to trs.adm@trswaco.org so they can get a good head count. Let’s make sure our friends at the Temple know how grateful we are for their generous hospitality!
